Privacy

Short version: nothing you make leaves your device, unless you switch on Pro cloud captions.

• Nothing is uploaded. Video, audio and captions are processed in your browser. The counter in the editor shows 0 B uploaded.
• No account. There is nothing to sign up for.
• No analytics, no tracking, no cookies for advertising.
• Models from Hugging Face. The speech and voice-detection models are downloaded as files from the Hugging Face CDN the first time you transcribe, then cached in your browser. These are plain downloads with no media attached.
• Fonts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts or served from this site.
• Photos. The sample photos on the landing page are from Pexels and used under the Pexels licence.
• Saved on your device only. Your caption text and style may be autosaved in your browser's storage so you can restore them. The video itself is not saved.
• Paste a link (optional). If you paste an Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or X link, that link is sent to our downloader, which fetches the public video and sends it back to your browser. The video is deleted from the downloader straight away and links are not logged. Videos you drop in yourself never touch it.
• Cloud captions (Pro, off by default). Only if you switch Cloud captions on, the audio track of that one video (never the picture) is sent to our caption server and passed to our speech provider (ElevenLabs, or Groq as a backup) to make the captions. We don't store the audio or the text, don't log it, and don't need an account; your licence key is checked and only a scrambled form of it is kept to count your monthly minutes. The upload counter in the editor shows the size of what was sent. With Cloud off, nothing leaves your device.
• Pro licence check. If you buy Pro, entering your licence key sends only that key to Lemon Squeezy to confirm it is valid, and re-checks it occasionally. No media or captions are included.
